Tom Tobin/Letter to the Editor: Wrong for Cobb to be 'bank' on foreclosures 11/21/2008
Cobb County is now in the business of buying, repairing and selling distressed, foreclosure residential property thanks to a new federal grant program. I guess the next step is to have Commission Chairman Sam Olens give a no-money-down seminar at the Cobb Energy Center.

Joyce Huggins/Letter to the Editor: Elliott overeager to 'trash losers' 11/21/2008
Cute! I'm sure Judy Elliott thought her Nov. 16 column was very cute.

G.V. Harper/Letter to the Editor: No need for candy-coated columns 11/21/2008
I am sure Ann Coulter doesn't need my defense, but I do believe Lee Brooks should think this over.

Cobb taxpayers not in market for 'singing bird' 11/21/2008
Back in 1946, I was in the fourth grade in Tuscola, Texas and getting to the county fair in Abilene, 18 long miles distant, seemed an impossible dream. However, through an act of providence, I got there on a school trip. On a Tuesday morning 17 of us boarded a school bus bound for the county fair. I had an entire dime to squander.

Go Bipartisan 11/21/2008
W ith Time magazine comparing Obama to Jesus, I guess we should be relieved that, this week, liberals are only comparing him to Abraham Lincoln.

'Fired for Cause' 11/20/2008
"The past is the past," Gov. Sarah Palin declared at her first and only official press conference of the 2008 presidential campaign season, which, oddly enough, was held after the election. "It's behind us." Is it?

Thanks to school board, April Fools' late this year 11/20/2008
It is amazing to read that the Cobb school board is considering switching the SPLOST contract to a firm headed by a current officer of the Facility Group. If this was not so sad it could be funny, but it's sick, sick, sick. It has also been reported recently that the school board has not spent all of the SPLOST II money. But that is understandable, as it was supposedly for classrooms. Yes, they can move up the purchase of buses. What a major decision. And by the way, who really has the contract for all those trailers being used for years and years?

McCollum's contributions to county deserve recognition 11/20/2008
As the niece of former Cobb Commission Chairman Herbert McCollum, I would like to thank all who opposed renaming the county airport. If we as concerned citizens of Cobb do not rally against the "leaders," soon they will have us annexed into Atlanta. What a shame that these men have lost their loyalty to our county.

Alex May/Letter to the Editor: Board will find Facility Group did nothing wrong 11/19/2008
It looks like the Cobb school board is busy again getting lots of work done.
